2026 Ballot Measures

Ballot Measures Nov. 3, 2026

The following information is based on my experience as your state senator, having debated these issues when the state legislature referred them to the ballot. I've added other sources frequently so you can follow links to do your research.

My basic recommendation:

Vote YES on the Protect Education Act - Prop 212 - sensible reforms to the ESA Universal Voucher Program.

Vote NO on everything else.   (A couple of them are not terrible,  but none of them were vetted well.)

Most of them were passed with only Republican votes, and I encourage you to vote, "No" on any issue that has support only from one political party, primarily because the words on the page have not been vetted well.   It's likely to have many unintended consequences.

So Bad, it's not on the ballot:

For example, HCR2040 was passed with only Republican yes votes.  All Democrats voted, "No."  In July, the courts threw it OFF the ballot because it violates the AZ Constitution's rule that an amendment to the Constitution must cover only 1 topic.  The Republican Leadership argued in court that the bill applied only to teachers' unions, but the judge pretty much told them to pound sand.  Read the AZ Mirror explanation click here.
